Going traveling: Berlin
Today, at long last, Alex and I are off to Berlin! Thank you to everyone for the great tips on cool places to eat, things to do and sights to see. Can't wait to hit the streets and hang out with dudes like these....

Marni Shades
Aren't these sunglasses amazing? They're from Marni's show in Milan. The matte pink lips are pretty great, too.

Tres bon.

Elle.com has a great slideshow of Parisian street style. (My mom and I are still obsessed with Paris, so we are eating this up.) I especially love the second shot of the gorgeous Susan Cernek, who was there for Paris fashion week.

House swap
I've always loved to travel, but I have a limited income. So I was thrilled this year to discovered the genius of housing swaps. In Paris, my mom and I swapped apartments for a pretty apartment in the fourteenth. For our Berlin trip, Alex and I are swapping with the lovely apartment pictured here. (Check it out!!!)Some friends say they'd be nervous about people messing up their stuff, but I feel like you can get a good sense of people through their emails. Now when we travel, I feel like more of an insider in the foreign city. Plus, we can spend the money we saved on fabulous dinners, museum tickets and boutique shopping. I would highly recommend it...

Bear Love
What sweet photos of bears by Jill Greenberg, who set up a huge outdoor studio in Calgary. She really seems to capture their moods and personalities. Her bear show will be exhibited at ClampArt until the end of November. P.S. Has anyone ever seen a bear in the wild? My family did while hiking in Yellowstone, but luckily we escaped unscathed.P.S. Greenberg, a master of capturing emotion, is also lauded for her hilariously named monkey portraits and her heartbreaking photos of children crying.

Ship Bowl
I love anything reminiscent of my grandparents' fishing village in Cornwall, so I was really taken by this ship bowl from Dutch designer Hella Jongerius. Not a bad way to eat your cereal.

Dave's Party
Sadly, I am so busy this week that I can barely breathe, let alone blog. But I will leave you with the hilarious Dave's Party, which Josh and I saw at the Pompidou in Paris a few years ago and naturally became obsessed with. (Can you recognize the voice of a former SNL character?) Enjoy, my dears, and I'll see you soon! (By the fabulous Richard Goldstone)

Babies on the brain.
I think my biological clock just started ticking. Seriously. I'm 28 years old, and I have suddenly and inexplicably starting fantasizing, obsessing and even dreaming about babies.I've started reading memoirs about nannies and motherhood and blogs written by moms. Every baby I pass on the street is cuter than the last; I coo and wave into their strollers. I think about babies all the time, as well as baby names: Oliver, Sasha, Sophie, Zoe (with an umlaut).
Has this happened to any of you?!

Barn Living
I posted a new Cookie home tour today, and I secretly want to move in with them. The family lives in a barn in Illinois and have decorated it so well. Look at their boys' gorgeous desk. Read more here.

Ooooh, Ahhhh, Ooooh
I don't wear much jewelry. As in, none at all. But I gasped (literally out loud, while sitting alone at my desk) when I saw Lena's rings. They are subtle yet stunning. I can't believe how much I love them and how much I'm drawn to them. Ahhh, Lena, you've done it again....The top silver ring is from Lo and the middle ring is from Steven Alan in New York, who apparently offers estate jewelry. Who knew?

The Coolest Weekend Bag Ever.
Alex and I spend pretty much every weekend at his apartment in Brooklyn, so I'm always lugging my clothes, shoes, makeup and magazines out there. I've been using a rolling suitcase, but if I had my choice, I would carry this Hansen Gross number. The saddle-brown leather is buttery soft, and the interior has a handsome plaid lining. Oooh, yes, please!
