A picnic blanket caper

I've been searching online for a picnic blanket, but I'm weirdly stumped. Do you have a favorite picnic blanket? Do you have any shop recommendations? Thank you so much!

New Yorkers at Home

A few weeks ago, the incredibly sweet French photographer Valerie Dray came to our apartment to take photos of Alex and me for her Men's Style story, 15 Creative New Yorkers. We were so honored to be included! A few others who were in the piece...
Brooke Williams, a photographer, writer and former Domino editor, and her husband Josh Liberson of Helicopter graphic design, and their adorable daughter Ada.Kendra Smoot, a prop stylist, and her husband Seth Smoot, a photographer, and their sweet little girl Stella.
Hollister Hovey, a blogger and publicist, and her sister Porter Hovey, a photographer. I'm in awe of their fabulous Williamsburg apartment.

See the full slideshow here. Thank you again, Valerie! It was really fun!

Dish towels

When I was little, I felt so bad for my mom when she got things like soap and tea towels for Christmas. How sad! I thought. But now that I'm a grown-up, I understand the appeal. Don't you love these dish towels from Tas-ka?

Elopement

Shana and her fiance were madly in love but didn't want a giant wedding. So they decided to elope to North Carolina...
They brought along a wreath and fresh flowers.
They said their vows in a teeny chapboard church.
Their witnesses were Bobbi and Elbert from Mississippi. "We found them in the campsite restrooms where we got dressed," says Shana. "They LOVED getting to sit in the back row as we were married."
Wishing them a happily ever after. Isn't that romantic? See more on Frolic.

Reeses cake

How delicious does this Reeses cake look? Peanut butter is mixed into every part of it. I think my head just exploded.

Update: Oh, man, Amanda just sent this one!

BEST Wedding Video Ever

This wedding video is genius. I double dare you not to smile.

Wine tip

Last night, I biked over to the lovely Jennifer's house for thai food. I brought a bottle of white wine, but it was warm by the time I arrived. Jen's clever solution? Wrap a wet paper towel around it and stick it in the freezer. Ten minutes later, it was perfectly chilled. Genius!

Honeymoon clothes

A few weeks ago, Abbey told me that before she went on her honeymoon, she bought a few new skirts and dresses. "I felt really sexy the whole time," she said. Clothes can sometimes be important in that way, don't you think? Since then, I've been eyeing the Toast catalog. Their clothes are so relaxed and feminine, and the photos make me feel like I'm already on vacation!

Retro swimsuits

My mom just sent me these photos of my grandmother at the beach. She was English but moved to Chicago (so brave) to marry my grandfather, who she had met during the war. I love her retro swimsuit and lovely round face--and how my grandfather is gazing at her!

Home Inspiration: Gallery Wall

This room feels super masculine, but I love the mix of drawings and posters, especially the rad Mon Oncle print, don't you?

Ties

How pretty are these ties from Field Guided? The fabrics are fresh and lovely; you can have personal note embroidered onto the tag, and they're only $35. Sold! (P.S. I just gave the floral one to Alex as a little present and, as Sarah said, they'd be perfect for Father's Day.)

Home Inspiration: Blonde Redhead

Blonde Redhead's apartment appeared in Domino ages ago, but I keep coming back to the photos. Isn't the blue toile wallpaper gorgeous? I love how they make it feel modern and casual by randomly tacking up favorite photos.
